The comedy follows the story of Tony (Ricky Gervais) in the fictional town of Tembli. Tony, a writer for a local newspaper, has his life turned upside down after his wife dies of cancer. In Season 2, Tony is still grieving over the loss of his wife, but we see him trying to build friendships with those around him. Everyone is grappling with their own problems, and with the local newspaper threatened with closure, it's not easy for everyone. Can the town's local amateur theater act lift everyone's spirits?
