AppleTV+ has scheduled a half-hour bilingual comedy "Acapulco". Eugenio Derbez executive produces and stars in a Spanish-English series inspired by the movie "How to Be A Latin Lover" in which he starred. The story of a young Mexican man whose dreams come true and who lands the job of a lifetime in Acapulco's hottest resort. With all his beliefs and morals starting to be upended, he quickly realizes the job is more complicated than he imagined. Set in 1984, Derbez plays the protagonist of the present moment and serves as the narrator. The show was co-created by Austin Winsberg, creator of Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist, and Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman, creators of Half-Blood Brothers. Winsberg serves as the series operator, and "How I Met Your Mother" screenwriter Chris Harris is the co-executive operator.
