In Japan in the early 1980s, vigorous young people showed their personalities, showing their understanding of art and beauty unscrupulously. Amid this turbulent trend, the young Yan Ran (played by Liu Le Yuya), who volunteered to become a cartoonist, was admitted to the Department of Film and Television Planning of Osaka University of Arts. He was full of self-confidence and mighty, but not long after he entered school, his confidence quickly suffered setbacks. It turned out that there were Hideaki Anno (played by Akira Yasuda), Hiroyuki Yamaga (played by Muro Takeshi), and Takami Akai (played by Tomoya Nakamura) in the same period.
